Rachael and Lee’s candle-lit winter wedding at West Tower, Ormskirk

Rachael and Lee’s venue dressing was nothing short of spectacular. There were beautiful flowers everywhere you looked, candles making warm cozy lighting, and smiles on everyone’s faces. It was my last wedding of the year on December 30th, and what a brilliant way to end the season!

The venue still had Christmas decorations up so the combination made for a beautiful, romantic, and homely setting.

A Twilight wedding at West Tower is magical.

The venue is so beautiful with open fires and the grounds are rural and vast. Rachael’s dress was so beautiful with a classical long trail. The candles and the flowers made the ceremony so romantic. West Tower has a long aisle with steps in the middle, and seeing the long row of candles leading to the front was wonderful.

Couple portraits at night

With the twilight wedding, especially in December, the sun was down before Rachael even had her beautiful dress on. So we opted for some off-camera flash portraits outside at night.

West Tower was lit up, and there were classical lamps all around the venue, so we were spoiled for choice even in the dark. When it started to rain lightly, we didn’t let that stop us. The rain in the light of my flashguns made for a magical, ethereal, vibe. It worked out perfectly!

Evening celebrations

I love me a good entrance! Rachael had the BEST entrance! After the toastmaster set the mood, Rachael and Lee entered to roaring applause to the Spice Girls — one of Rachael’s favourite groups.

After cutting the beautiful cake, the party kicked in full-force! The dance floor was packed with everyone having a brilliant night.

Congratulations to Rachael and Lee, and thank you so much for allowing me to capture your stunning wedding! I also shot a highlight film of the day too, you can check it out here!
