Caldy Golf Club Wedding - Maz and Tom - Wirral

Relaxed Family Morning

If I could use one word to describe Maz and Tom’s morning, it would be relaxed. Tom had some tea and toast… and whiskey! Meanwhile Maz and her bridesmaids did their own makeup and got ready in her mum’s bedroom. The family atmosphere was lovely to be a part of.

Church Wedding Time! — St Michaels Church — Wirral

Maria and Tom got married in St Micheals church on the Wirral. The outside is a truly unique pyramid style landmark than owns the landscape and can be seen from miles around. Inside the venue is wood paneled from floor to roof and its HUGE inside. The leading lines of the pyramid shape pulls into a point far above our heads that give such a grand feel while still feeling welcome and warm. This made for some really lovely architecture shots and provided loads of light for the ceremony which is perfect for us!

Off to Caldy Golf Club to continue the wedding celebrations! — Wirral

Golf Clubs are great for weddings! They have vast amounts of land that really make you feel secluded from everything. It’s so peaceful, and the view at Caldy is fab. The fields flow all cliffs overlooking the sea which is perfect for portraits after.

The downside to a golf course as a wedding venue can be the eternal battle between heels and grass. Thankfully the venue had this sorted and THIS has to be one of the highlights of the year. The master of ceremonies walks over to us with a set of keys and asks ‘what kart would you like to drive?’ He then helped the bride and groom into one of the karts and proceeded to clamber onto the back and he was off into the sunset. This is a very surreal experience and definitely one of those where you have to pinch yourself and ask the question ‘is this really my job?’. The shots came out incredible and it was well worth the journey, oh so much fun.

Did someone say race?!

Everyone has a competitive nature but there is a time and a place and it seems this WAS that time and THAT place. After we took some shots of the sunset over the cliffs we thought it would have been a good idea to get some pictures of the bride and groom driving the karts. So we backed them up to a safe distance and asked to drive towards us slowly. As they approached we realised that we had tapped into the couples fair sense of competitiveness. Neither seemed happy to be behind the other and we had set up tripods as a finish line. Capturing the fun and happiness a bride a groom have racing on their special day is a truly unique experience.

Speaking of the sunset… it was a great one!
