Becky and John’s brilliant geek wedding! Liverpool City Centre

Details, details, details! Becky and John’s wedding was full to the brim with their personality from start to finish. Here are some of the best bits that caught my eye and made me fangirl all over the place.

The best bouquets I’ve ever seen

Every bouquet was personalised to the bridesmaid with all the things they love! What a brilliant idea, and surely something to keep for the future to remember this epic day.

One bouquet had Harry Potter and gaming themed trinkets, and another was full of mermaids. The flowers themselves were made from books. You could honestly spend a good five minutes looking at each bouquet and not see all the little details.

And all-of-the wonderful personalised wedding shoes! Custom spray-painted Converse and heels! We had Spyro, Little Mermaid, and lots more. So brilliant. I love how each bridesmaid got to show their own personality in this wedding.

To the ceremony! St. George’s Hall Liverpool wedding

What is cooler than walking across Liverpool city centre with your bridesmaids? We stopped traffic, got cheers and car horns. What a great way to arrive.

Now, Dear Reader, I am such an emotional person. I often shed a tear whenever there’s a heart-felt reading at a ceremony. But nothing quite prepared me to this reading: the iconic Joey-From-Friends having and giving and loving and receiving. What a brilliant idea! I found myself exclaiming that quite often throughout this day.

T-Rexing — Jurassic Park wedding car

Just when things couldn’t get any better, two of the groomsmen dressed up as T Rex’s for the group shot. Their outfits became clear when Becky and John’s wedding car turned out to be a Jurassic Park Jeep. We had a blast, running about with the dinosaurs. Those Converse really came in handy!

Couple portraits — Liverpool city wedding

We hit a brilliant graffiti spot for some cute couple portraits. We had a dance, and a giggle, and the backdrops were fantastic. We even took a ride in the jeep (MADE MY DAY!) to the big old Lambana in town. This was a special spot for Becky and John, around the place where they first met.

Liverpool always makes for a brilliant backdrop for couple portraits. From the skyline, to the graffiti, to the welcoming people and atmosphere, it’s just great.

Light Saber Entrance

After the main couple portraits we had a bit of fun with some Light Sabers and Harry Potter wands. With a bit of Photoshop wizardry (see what I did there?) from yours truly, we had created iconic geeky photos that I blummin’ love. I think all future weddings should come with wands, T-rex’s, and light sabers tbh.

Details Details Details

I could spend another thousand words going into all the magical little details in Becky and John’s wedding. There were dozens — DOZENS — of home made baubles on each of the tables.

They had a Harry Potter-themed Honeydukes sweet stand. There was even a “choose our first dance” poll with some absolutely great, original, choices.

The wedding cake was Jurassic Park themed again, with Pop Vinyl figures and a tiny jeep! Absolutely epic. Dinosaurs in top hats. I didn’t know I needed this in my life, but damn, I really do.

Becky and John’s wedding was unique, geeky, and personal to them. So much love and attention went into it and I was so grateful to be able to capture it for them.  Congratulations to them both!
