Alternative Wedding Car Ideas

As I write this, the festive period has come to an end. The wine has stopped flowing and all the mince pies have been eaten. As we look forward to the horizon of 2020 it’s always fun to look back at some of the coolest things we’ve seen so far.

No wedding would be complete without a grand entrance. What better way to do that than in a fancy car, but which one to pick? So we have rounded up our favourite off-beat, alternative, and eye-catching cars!

A Golf Kart as a wedding Car? Why not! — Caldy Golf Course Wedding, Wirral

Style, class, beauty.

A golf kart has none of these things.

But what it does have is bags of character and fun!

Golf courses are incredibly popular venues for weddings, but sometimes getting around can be a chore. The solution? Golf karts! A lot of these wedding venues will provide these for transport to access the best places for your photos. They will often let you drive! This gives you a few minutes alone to really soak in your first moments as a new married couple, but also happens to be tons of fun. Did someone say race?

At Caldy Golf Course, our lovely bride and groom had a race. We risked life and limb to capture it. Our job always gets us into some fun situations!

Jurassic Park Jeep as a wedding car! — St. George’s Hall Wedding — Liverpool

It is no secret. We’re both total nerds at Make Life Memorable. So I fangirled so much when I saw the Jurassic Park Jeep as a wedding car! To make things even better, two of the bridal party dressed up as dinosaurs and chased the couple down the street. Just. Wonderful. What a brilliant idea! and it’s such an authentic replica too.

A Horse Drawn Carriage — Kilhey Hall Wedding

There is no better way to say princess wedding than to arrive like royalty driven by your very own stallion. This is a wonderful way to say I do. They may not be the fastest way to travel, but that can sometimes be a good thing. A horse-drawn carriage is classy, comfortable, and it gives you plenty of alone time before and after the wedding to take it all in.

A Daimler Wedding Car — Liverpool Town Hall Wedding — Liverpool

If there was an award for the most iconic wedding card of all time i'm certain it would go to Daimler. Not only is this car exude luxury and class, but one of the many reasons it is so popular as a wedding car is because it can seat 6 passengers (5 in the rear and 1 in the front). They are spacious and comfortable and gives you and your party to arrive together in style. As a backdrop for photos these are huge and grand. Many a wheel arch has been used as a prop to frame the perfect wedding kiss.

Aston Martin — Hallmark Sefton Park Wedding — Liverpool

Not everyone wants to be driven everywhere in the lap of luxury. For some the most exciting part of a luxury car is the driving experience itself. So if you are more bucket seats than Champagne flutes then maybe a performance car is for you!

Many companies that offer wedding cars will often have modern cars too. There is no better way to announce your arrival is with flames from exhausts, they will often allow you to keep the car for a few days too. So if your idea of the perfect wedding jaunt is at the national speed limit, maybe an Aston Martin is for you.

A VW Camper — Hallmark Sefton Park Wedding — Liverpool

If you want to truly embrace the swinging 60s and the summer of love this is the car for you! The VW Camper really is the king of cool, especially when they’ve been lovingly restored to their former glory. They often have picnic hampers with prosecco and canapes so you and your wedding party can really get the party started, before the party does.
